Join the rear of a Volkswagen with the front of a motorcycle, cover it with a  sleek body the color of rancid plums or electric blue, chrome the motor, put wide tires on the rear and VOILA, you have a trike.  Ready to roar, the trike is fast, lightweight and very fuel efficient.  The trike motor can be designed to push 2 or 3 times the weight of the trike itself.  It has been called the perfect medium between the car and the bike.  There is nothing like riding in the wind on the winged wheels of a motorcycle or trike.

At GEX, trike motor sales have become a fast growing segment of our business.  The most popular trike motor that we sell is the 1776.  It is the perfect combination of performance and reliability.  Coming in at about 95 hp with dual carbs, it is the ideal trike motor.

For those looking for serious performance, then consider the 2110 cc trike motor.  This is a stroked motor with the same diameter piston and cylinder as the 1776 and is about 120 hp.  Either of these motors chromed out, with dual carbs and exhaust can be a beautiful addition to the rear of your trike.  Let us help you design the motor of your choice to ride into the wind......

GEX Performance VW Engines are rebuilt Volkswagen air cooled performance complete engines.

All GEX Performance Turnkey engines are Hot Run and Tested under Load Conditions and now include brand NEW dual port heads. The 1776 engines with crate weigh 302 pounds. The 2110 engines with crate weigh 302 pounds.

2110 cc VW, Dual Port costs $4,099.00 and a Core of $495.00

A core is your old worn out (yet still rebuildable) engine or part that is required as a trade in, when you purchase a remanufactured or sometimes a new one.  An acceptable core or rebuildable core is one that is not broken, damaged beyond repair, or so severely cracked that is can no longer be machined back to proper working condition.

A core charge is a deposit for the value of the core that is paid instead of the trade in at the time of your purchase. It is refundable after we receive your old rebuildable part back. To receive full credit, the core must be the same type and size as what was purchased.

Also, some cores of lesser value, or partially damaged can be returned for partial credit. When in doubt, please inquire with GEX sales person. The shipping cost for the return of the core is the responsibility of the customer.

GEX Turnkeys are complete engines with everything installed, except clutch and exhaust, ready for installation. However, turnkeys can be ordered with clutch and exhaust additional.

Anyone can install GEX engines and still have a Warranty. The engine must be installed correctly, with all compartment seals in place, timing set correctly, etc. Engines installed with these pieces missing, or installed incorrectly inevitably overheat, and cannot be covered by the GEX limited warranty.

All GEX engines come ready for unleaded fuel. No additives are needed, or recommended. Good quality fuel of no less than 92 octane is recommended.

GEX support staff can handle a range of queries. GEX ships thousands of engines world wide, and they have seen it all. So reach out and get your doubts and problems solved to benefit from their diverse and detailed experience.

Engine Balance insures a quieter running engine with less vibration, and stress. You might even consider counter weighting the crank, as this will even further reduce the amount of vibrations and crankshaft harmonics, and will extend the life of your engine. A counter weighted crank has additional weights added to it, to offset the weight of the rod journal, and the bottom of the rod. This reduces crankshaft flexing and vibration, allowing greater rpm limits and a better sounding engine.

A remote oil cooler might not be a bad idea, but definitely leave the factory cooler from GEX in its place, and add to it. GEX staff can prepare the case on your VW engine to run a remote cooler, and filter if desired, to provide a cool, clean source of oil to you engine, ensuring longer life.

So what are you waiting for, get up and ride to the nearest telephone booth or hitchhike all the way to Arkansas.
