Its Peter Fonda’s dream come true, (at least in his latter years) the Captain American Trike. This unique, all American masterpiece is as patriotic to look at as it is to ride.

And you can build one just like it, with a couple small exceptions, using parts found in Paughco’s 2014 catalog. From the awesome custom chassis to the bars, seat, tank, rear end assembly, and fenders to those cool Dog Bone risers, lights, pegs and even the paint.

In fact Paughcos new Trike conversion kits have got to be the coolest thing to hit the industry since Capt. America. Seriously, Paughco has made converting your Sportster from 2-wheels to 3 a simple, do-it-yourself proposition that is certainly going to evolve into a whole new trend in chopper design and styling.

While the company will be offering these bolt together tike kits for most popular H-D models they are currently shipping the custom swingarm and rear axle pieces required to make the Sportster conversion. Both of these components bolt directly in place of the stock swingarm assembly and utilize the stock belt or chain, depending on model.

Once fit all you have to do is add your choice of GM 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern wheels and tires and youre set. The rear axle assembly features a 70T 1 ½” wide belt pulley or 51T chain sprocket, brake rotors, chrome 4-piston calipers and limited slip differential. Overall width, as shown, with wheels and tires is 49” and stock shocks bolt directly to the new swingarm and OEM shock mounts. Rear axle assemblies are finished in black powder coat and the swingarms are shipped raw steel. Paughco Trike swingarms are offered for XL models 1986-2010 and the axle assemblies can be ordered for both chain and belt applications. It’s all available a www.paughco.com or by calling direct to 775-246-5738.

Paughco’s Sportster trike conversion kits have been packaged so that they can be assembled in one shot or in stages with all pieces working seamlessly together and at a cost that’s very affordable. Mix and match swingarms and axle assemblies to cover all 1986-up Sportster models whether fitted with chain or belt final drive.

• New, US-made Paughco axle assemblies
• Uses wheels with GM/Chevy 5 x 4.75" bolt pattern (sold separately)
• No cutting of your frame is required
• Posi-traction non-slip differential assembly
• Mount easily to existing swingarm and shock locations
• Gloss black powdercoated axle assemblies and raw steel swingarms
• Axle assemblies include brake calipers and rotors

How about a bitchin Paughco Captain America Chopper to match!

I was injured really bad in 2007 and was left to die with 64 broken bones and now I cant walk.I'm fighting to get better to walk again and this Captain American Trike gives me the extra push I need to fight harder to win this life long dream of owning a Panhead bike.I never thought it was going to be a dream of a trike but to have a trike to ride and mainly I want a Panhead Trike just like this one.I'm impressed with this trike and would like to someday start building one myself.I just need some help that's all.I barley can afford to pay my bills yet to save parts will take years and years but well worth the wait. Thanks for sharing such awesome Motorcycles and Trikes you guys sure do know what people like including myself......Thanks Brothers..
